In 2007 George Dodson and David Jones purchased Roy D Hopkins Feed and Seed located at 301 East 3rd downtown Texarkana AR. Roy D Hopkins had been in business at that location since 1936. George and David recreated the business working nights and weekends over the next 18 months. They opened for business in May 2009, and the idea of a 2nd location became a reality on November 5th 2015 in Texarkana TX. The term “Icehouse” is derived from days gone by when ice was brought in town by trains and stored near the tracks in warehouses. Women of the day would not let their men keep beer in the small icebox in the house.
